The Scene

Okay, here's the scene right now. Xanthurian is standing on the ladder about ten feet up the hole. He is holding a dagger and a torch. Lyda is right underneath him holding nothing at the moment.

Xanthurian you could try and kick the door down or something.

Lyda once Xanthurian gets the door open are you going to follow him through or continue on up the tunnel?

A Trapdoor Part 2

Xanthurian, I'm pretty sure that you have pretty good hand-eye coordination, so you reach out and snatch the falling torch easily. Then you try to open the door, but without the usual handle and the fact the door is set so close to the wall you are unable to get it to budge.

Into the Dark and Scary Tunnel.

The ladder holds as you pull yourself up onto it and start climbing. When you reach the trapdoor your investigate it further and discover that it opens outward, but from what you can see there's no sort of handle or anything to pull on and the door is set so close the wall that you can't get your fingers into the crack. Luckily the wood is starting to rot and will probably break easy. You also toss down a rope to the floor for Lyda to climb up.

When you throw the torch up it's hard to see in it's flickering light, but your pretty positive the tunnel levels out another 20 or so feet up. Now you have a spinning, fiery torch falling straight for you.

A Trapdoor

Xanthurian, when you shine your torch up into the hole you see a that it continues on for a very long ways and even you can't see the end. You also see the wooden plank you saw earlier thats only about 10 more feet up is what appears to be a trapdoor with no handle set into the wall opposite the ladder.

Upon your touch a little of the rust flakes of the ladder but other than that it feels very sturdy.

Continuing with the hole.

Xanthurian the lighting for you is not luminescent enough for you to make out any detail from the wooden blank and you don't discover any more knowledge than you already know.

When, for some reason Xanthurian climbs onto Lyda's back instead of the other way around, Lyda you grunt with the effort of lifting him, but your endeavors have succeeded and Xanthurian is now able to reach the ladder. Unfortunately you block out much of the torch light and are unable to see farther than before into the hole.

Lyda roll a strength check to see how long you can keep Xanthurian up.

What the Ladder Shows.

After shining your torches up the hole in the ceiling, Lyda AKA Montana, you see about five feet up. She also sees the ladder start at the base of the hole and continues its way up into the darkness.

Xanthurian AKA Isaac, you see about twice as far, 10 feet. You also see the ladder continuing upward, but upon further inspection you notice that the ladder must be quite old for most of what you see is coated in a thick layer of rust. At the very edge of your vision you think you can just make out the bottom of some sort of wooden plank set into the wall.

So now are you guys still going to make a human ladder up to the hole?

The Story so far

You have just bravely risked your life in saving a innocent unicorn from four vile creatures. After that you continued on through a door to find a chest full of gold, a strange blue potion, which you drunk without any visual effects so far and some sleeping gas.

Once the treasure was looted you investigated a strange trapdoor like thing on the ceiling of the room. Upon prodding it crashed down in a cascade of rocks revealing a small tunnel equipped with a ladder heading straight up into the rock.
